Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American singer and model from the United States. Kotero was also co-starring with Prince in his 1984 film Purple Rain. Kotero was the female lead vocalist in Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. In the 1980s, the singer-actress Prince named Apollonia was one of many female artists who gained from working with Prince. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as a model and actress. The latter part of the 70s was when she appeared on CHiPS. In 1984 she landed the title of female lead for Prince's Purple Rain (during which time he switched her names) and was replaced by Vanity as a member of the female group Vanity 6 singing with them on the screen under the name Apollonia 6. Sex Shooter was not a huge achievement for the group but she had a bigger effect as the duet partner of Prince on Take Me with You on the soundtrack. Kotero was able to break up with Prince when they fell apart over the direction of Apollonia 6. In the wake of appearing in minor film (and reportedly refusing to participate with The Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) She was a part of the 1985-86 nighttime drama Falcon Crest. Apollonia's debut album was released in 1988. However, the R&B/dance tracks weren't well-received by the public who purchased music. The album soon vanished. Throughout the decade that followed, she remained an active actress with minor film roles and small TV shows. Apollonia's album Stay With Me was released in 1997. The singer returned to the university and received a degree in making films. Then she founded her firm and began working on children's television. Apollonia wears multiple hats. She's been a model, singer-actress and talent manager. In 1984, she was credited for her performance on the show Purple Rain. In addition, she has been featured in several other movies and TV shows such as Black Magic Woman and The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model. She participated in numerous pageants and competitions. Kotero is the winner of Miss San Pedro Beauty Pageant. The actress began her career in the 1980s.
